2008 Annual Meeting and Election Results
Here is a brief update of the February 17th 10:00 am Congregational meeting:

President
Harney appointed Phil Bertram, as parlimentarian, Dick Cook as head tellar, and
Carl Snyder as secretary for the meeting.
·
A quorem of
190 was needed to conduct business; 246 were present.
·
Pastor Heidtke opened the meeting with devotions
·
President
Harney highlighted the ongoing emphasis on “Grow” from our mission statement
and strategic plan. Look for another
GROW event in April.
·
The
Congregation approved the ongoing leases at 1217 and 1237 N. Dunton
·
Reports from
the staff, officers and Ministry Areas of the church were received
·
Four persons
were elected to church council: Ed
Hartman, Dave Timm, and Julia Piontek to a first two-year term; Betty Birner
for a second two-year term
·
Outgoing
Council members, Dave Harney, George Steil and Carl Snyder were thanked for
their years of service on the council.
·
An operating
budget of 1.64 million dollars was presented and approved for 2008
·
Several
other budgets for special funds were approved, too
·
Craig
Swanson, a member of the Senior Pastor Call Committee, gave an update on the
call process, thanked retiring members Michael Burk and Chuck Doering; and
introduced new committee members: Jill
Lisius and Carl Snyder.
·
President
Harney introduced our delegates to the June Synod Assembly: Dave Timm, Marilyn Dutcher, Betty Birner,
and Carl Snyder. He also introduced our
new interim Pastor, Trish Baik and her husband, Tom.
After the Congregational meeting, the Church Council had its first meeting of the new year and elected the following officers:
President: Betty Birner
Vice President: Joe Meyer
Secretary: Jodie Draut
Treasurer: Stan Broten
Financial Secretary: Lorie VanScoyoc
Other members
of Council for this next year are:
Marilyn Dutcher, Julia Piontek, Dave Timm, Ed Hartman, and Scott Gierke.
