The stained glass windows were designed and created by
artist Bob Harmon. The glass he used is from France,
Germany, and West Virginia. Notice that we can see
through our windows. Many churches have faceted glass,
but not ours. We believe that our faith gives us a
means of viewing the world, of equipping us for life
rather than cutting us off from it. We do not come to
church to be cut off from life, but to view it with the
eyes of faith; the windows are open to the world beyond
them.
The windows on the east wall are an abbreviated story
of salvation. They read from left to right, beginning
with the creation story and taking us through to the
new creation. They are intended to pull your eyes from
left to right and help draw you toward the altar and
pulpit, the place where God has promised himself in
Word and Sacrament.
