Our Saviour’s has Traditional Worship Services on Saturday evenings at 5:00 pm and Sunday mornings at 7:45, 9:00 and 10:30 in the south Worship Space. Scripture readings, inspirational sermons, and musical performances are all included. Music may be provided by one of our adult or children’s choirs, a soloist, our hand bell choir, the orchestra, or the brass ensemble. The hymns might include an old favorite, or a contemporary hymn. Adjacent to the Traditional Worship Space is a children’s quiet room where parents can take their children and still see and hear the worship service without disturbing others.
Our Saviour’s offers a rousing Contemporary Worship Service at 9:00 and 10:30 am in the North Worship Space. The Contemporary Service is led by our own Praise Band, which combines popular contemporary music with original compositions to worship and praise God in an uplifting and energized way. God’s Word is read in Scripture readings and through inspirational sermons. The pastors also offer a short children’s message for our young worshippers.
Our Traditional and Contemporary services run at the same time on Sundays at 9:00 and 10:30 am. The Traditional service is in the South Worship Space, and the Contemporary service is in the North Worship Space.
No, please come as you are! Most people dress for the weather, while showing respect for the occasion of worshiping the Lord.
Yes, absolutely. Here at Our Saviour's, you stand if you are able. Some members prefer to sit during these times.
Yes! Women are welcome to become ordained ministers in the ELCA, and Our Saviour’s currently has a woman in a pastoral position.
As a visitor, you are not asked nor expected to give anything to Our Saviour's when the baskets are passed. However, if you choose to become a regular worshipper here at Our Saviour's Lutheran Church, you need to know up front that we take our response to God's blessings seriously. If you choose to become a part of our church, you will be expected to give freely, regularly, generously, and proportionately to help carry out this church's Mission and Vision as a congregation.
All who believe in the saving grace of Jesus Christ and are baptized Christians are welcome to share in Holy Communion, celebrated at every weekend service.
Yes! Children are invited to join in the children’s sermon, sing the songs, say prayers, or enjoy their very own children’s bulletin. We have a Quiet Room, adjacent to our Traditional Worship Space for our youngest worshipers, who may need some personalized attention. A nursery is provided during the 9:00 and 10:30 am services

Our Saviour's has been ministering to the people of Arlington Heights and the northwest suburbs of Chicago since 1955. In June of 1990, a new worship space (capacity of 600) was completed, following several years of planning and construction. The original worship space, on the north end of our building now serves as both the contemporary worship space and a fellowship hall. In 2004 and 2005, Our Saviour's celebrated its 50th Anniversary.

Throughout our history, Our Saviour's Lutheran Church has been blessed with many talented and dedicated pastors and lay ministers.
Our Saviour's Lutheran Church began as a mission congregation of 81 adults and 55 baptized children in 1954. A mission developer, Pastor George Hoog, worked with a group of six couples in the fall of 1954 to begin establishing a United Lutheran Church in America (ULCA) congregation in Arlington Heights.
The first service was held in Dryden School in Arlington Heights, on November 21, 1954, and the congregation was officially organized on February 20, 1955. Pastor John Petersen became our first permanent Pastor in 1955.
Pastor Donald Pritz came to lead Our Saviour's in August 1964.
Pastor Pritz resigned in 1974.
Pastor Richard Jessen began serving Our Saviour's as Senior Pastor in March 1975.
Pastor Jessen accepted a call to Cedar Rapids, Iowa in 1982, and he eventually became bishop of the Nebraska Synod.
Pastor Frederick Aigner, served Our Saviour's as Senior Pastor from 1983 through 1997.
Pastor Aigner resigned in 1997 to accept a call to serve as President of Lutheran Social Services of Illinois.
Pastor Russell Sorensen served Our Saviour's as Senior Pastor in 1999.
Pastor Sorensen left in January 2006 for a call in Rice Lake, Wisconsin.
In May 2009, Pastor Dan Hoeger was called to Our Saviour's from Colorado and is our current Senior Pastor.
